DBL D BAR Heifers: The First of Many Calves
Dbl D BAR Beefmaster heifers are developed by naturally breeding specific dams with selected herd-sires. We use weights and measures to accurately measure development, and we emphasize EPD’s during our careful breeding selection. Dd prides itself on an excellent record of providing first-calving birthing ease for our ranch-raised heifers. Our show heifers have won at many JBBA events, county fairs and livestock shows.
Our development pastures cycle young open heifers to breeding-age heifers, first-calf calving, and first-calf heifer pairs. Dbl D BAR’s inventory usually includes about 100 Beefmaster heifers at any given time. These are purebred Beefmaster red, dun, and paint heifers. We do not raise or use black Beefmaster cattle.
Just as we use performance testing to validate our herd-sires’ level of Beefmaster quality, Dd will begin testing heifer performance in 2010.
