Thailand Field Trip: February 29th, 2012…
Doyle Sanders and a group of BBU International Committee members will be attending the BPS Show in Thailand during 9-11 March 2012. This show will include judging the first yearling Beefmaster calves born in Thailand. This is only one week after a large group of Thai beef professionals will be attending the Houston Livestock Show Beefmaster events including another International Field Day at the Dbl D Bar Ranch on the 29th of February. Lunch at the ranch will include a Beefmaster Prime Rib meal by Design II Caterers of Brenham, TX. They do great things with prime rib – but this time it won’t be Angus. Thanks to Nolan Ryan.
Dbl D Bar Ranch 2012 Annual Field Day: June 30th, 2012…REGISTER NOW
Beefmaster Friends & Family,
In 2007, Dorothy and I decided that we wanted to make a contribution to BBU by conducting an annual field day near our wedding anniversary and forego gifts to each other for the budget.
In 2008 we had a very well received field day in June and were asked to repeat it. We called it Performance 101 and we have featured CD’s of the talks on our website and Facebook site. It has been a popular request from regular hits we have received from all over the US and as far away as Russia. Since 2009 with my overseas project in Italy and the Beefmaster Symposiums we used our field day budget to sponsor the BBU Symposium and Convention events.
Dorothy and I decided to resurrect the annual program commitment this 2012 year. We think it has value to new, current and potential BBU members. We will also use the event for creating videos for the BBU website as well as our own. I have discussed our plans with Dr. Perkins and he has agreed to help us develop the final program and suggested Dr. Jason Cleere participate. Dr. Cleere has been very helpful to our Thai Initiative and we consider him a very good Beefmaster friend. I have included others on this announcement that we hope will also help with the program and encourage attendance through your satellites and marketing groups.
It will be in Welcome Hall, a historic German dance hall across from our ranch home in Industry near Brenham. With finalization of BBU Board schedules and review of planned BBU sales, we picked Saturday, June 30, 2012 for the Field Day. It will probably start about 9:30 AM and complete by about 3:30 -4:00 PM with lunch and a “wine down sunset review session” followed by a cook out in our OK (Outdoor Kitchen) Corral. We will be advertising the event in the Cowman and in the BBU e-Newsletter.
